What We Do in Life Echoes in Eternity

It’s such a wonderful deep quote of Marcus Aurelius, the Roman Emperor from 161 to 180 and Stoic philosopher.

It means in my opinion that only if you found your true purpose and work fully dedicated towards it, you are able to experience the mutual ‘Echoes in Eternity’: you give everything what you have and the world gives back. The legacy what comes out of your work is not so important for you.

It also means to be (or try to be) a good human being in this life, like Marcus Aurelius was as one of the last Five Good Emperors. The karmatic consequences of your good human being-ship will be taken to your next lives (reincarnations) and your consciousness will be of higher levels, towards the perfection of your soul (the last stage on this earth).
