In dit artikel wil ik u een uitgebreide samenvatting van het boek – The Mustard Seed - The Revolutionary Teachings of Jesus – van Osho niet onthouden, aangevuld met eigen (spirituele) inzichten en ervaringen.

Osho: ‘Jesus was not a revolutionary of this world. He was a revolutionary, master revolutionary – but of the inner world’

In de Bijbel is de meest interessante levensperiode van Jezus van Nazareth – 14 t/m 33 jaar – opmerkelijk genoeg niet opgenomen.

Het is de periode waarin hij streefde naar spirituele verlichting door trainingen te volgen in achtereenvolgens Egypte (School of Essenes) en India (Vedanta).

Het is opvallend dat in 1945 in de Noord-Egyptische plaats Nag Hammadi, door twee boeren, pas het ‘Gospel of Thomas’ / Het Thomas Evangelie – opgeschreven door de discipel Thomas – in een kruik werd gevonden.

In dit evangelie zijn de originele levenslessen – die niet zijn behandeld in de originele Bijbel – opgenomen.

Het Thomas Evangelie bestaat uit een 114-tal losse uitspraken van Jezus, met een gnostische spirituele invalshoek – ‘ware kennis van binnenuit’ / ‘chakra-openings’ / ‘Christ-Consciousness’).

De belangrijkste passages worden hieronder besproken.

The Teachings of Jesus:

The disciples said to Jesus:

Tell us what the kingdom of heaven is like.

He said to them: It is like a mustard seed – smaller that all seeds, but when it falls on the tilled earth it produces a large tree and becomes shelter for all the birds of heaven.

Jezus sprak hier over het openen van de hridaya – de rechter kleine chakra (het zaad / ‘reborn’) in het lichaam: ‘the mustard seed’.

Op het moment dat deze chakra is gestabiliseerd, zal de rest van de Amrita-Nadi-Line (Godliness) zich ook openen als a large tree waarin de ‘extatische’ birds of heaven zullen vliegen.

Jesus said:

Men possibly think that I have come to throw peace upon the world, and they do not know that I have come to throw divisions upon the earth – fire, sword, war.

Jezus sprak hier over het de-ego-identificatie-proces binnen de psyche van een persoon.

De ‘dissolving of the ego’ is een voorwaarde voor Spirituele Verlichting. Dit proces zal gepaard gaan met chaos, dat door een master kan worden aangewakkerd met fire, sword, war.

De meeste personen hebben moeite om hun ego op te kunnen geven (‘creates inner conflict’).

Alleen uit chaos zal een persoon echter spiritueel kunnen groeien.

For there shall be five in a house: three shall be against two and two against three.

Jezus sprak hier over het openen van de 5 chakra’s – The Three Hearts on a Row, The Third Eye Chakra en de Crown-Chakra – en het gevecht van deze verschillende chakra’s om geestelijke aandacht.

Het kost tijd voordat de geest deze 5 aandachtspunten tegelijkertijd kan bedienen, in elke omstandigheid die over de gehele dag plaatsvindt.

The father against the son and the son against the father, and they will stand as solitaries

Jezus vertrok op zijn veertiende uit het ouderlijk huis, tegen de zin in van zijn vader. Het openen van de chakra’s zullen de band met de familie opheffen (het lichaamsidentificatie-proces valt weg). Een nieuwe spirituele identiteit wordt aangenomen. De ruimte die Jezus zo kreeg leidde uiteindelijk tot zijn Verlichting.

Jesus said: I wil give you what the eye has not seen, and what the ear has not heard, and what the hand has not touched, and what has not arisen in the heart of man.

Jezus sprak hier over de onzichtbare Amrita-Nadi-Line, dat ontspruit vanuit het hart (Christ-Consciousness).

Jesus said:

I took my stand in the midst of the world and in flesh I appeared to them.

I found them all drunk, I found none of them athirst.

And my soul was afflicted for the sons of men, because they are blind in their heart and they do not see that empty they have come into the world, and empty they seek to go out of the world again.

But now they are drunk. When they have shaken off their wine, then they will repent.

Jezus sprak over de massa, die altijd dronken is, in een onbewuste staat verkeerd. Die niet dorstig is naar de innerlijke bewuste wereld. Ze zijn blind in hun hart en komen leeg in de wereld en zullen weer leeg de wereld verlaten – en dan begint alles weer opnieuw in een nieuw leven.

Jesus said:

If the flesh has come into existence because of the spirit, it is a marvel; but if the spirit has come into existence because of the body, it is as marvel of marvels. But I marvel at how this great wealth has made its home in this poverty.

Jezus sprak hier over het ontstaan van de mensheid door een spirituele bron. Deze bron kan men ook vinden in het lichaam en dat is overweldigend. Hij verbaasde zich erover dat deze extatische krachten zich kunnen voordoen in het menselijk lichaam, dat een lichaam dit kan voortbrengen.

Jesus said:

Take no thought from the morning until the evening and from the evening until the morning, for what you shall put on.

His disciples said: When wilt thou be revealed to us and when will we see thee?

Jesus said: When you take off your clothing without being ashamed, and take your clothes and put them under your feet as the little children and tread on them – then shall you behold the son of the living one, and you shall not fear.

Jezus sprak hier over de maskers die wij dragen in verschillende sociale omstandigheden: de verscheidene identiteiten. Hij roept op om deze maskers zonder schaamte af te doen en je originele gezicht te tonen.

De angsten zullen zo verdwijnen (en het ego) en het Licht zal zichtbaar worden. Zo is er ook een mogelijkheid om meer van jezelf te kunnen houden.

Jesus said to them:

If you fast you will beget sin for yourselves; and if you pray you will be condemned; and if you give alms you will do evil to your spirits.

And if you go into any land and wander in the regions; if they receive you, eat what they set before you, and heal the sick among them.

For what goes into your mouth will not defile you, but what comes out of your mouth, that is what defile you.

De kern van deze tekst van Jezus is dat het Zijn / Love / Being / Godliness het belangrijkste is (Essence) en pas daarna wat een persoon doet (Secondary): ‘Transform your Being’.

Jesus said:

The kingdom is like a shepherd who had one hundred sheep.

One of them went astray which was the largest.

He left behind the ninety-nine, he sought for the one until he found it.

Having tired himself out, he said to the sheep: I love thee more than the ninety-nine.

Jezus spreekt hier over het feit dat Verlichting enkel kan plaatsvinden buiten de massa, maar wel tussen de massa. Dit is een cruciaal inzicht: een sociale eenling tussen de mensen in. Durf eruit te stappen!

Jesus said:

The kingdom of the father is like a man, a merchant, who possessed merchandise and found a pearl.

The merchant was prudent. He sold the merchandise and bought the one pearl for himself.

Do you also seek for the treasure which fails not, which endures, where no moth comes near to devour and where no worm destroys.

Jezus spreekt hier over de zoektocht naar het Licht, waar iedereen voorbij aan lijkt te gaan – maar waar iedereen uiteindelijk naar op zoek is. Je moet alles durven loslaten – zoals je rijkdom en je bezit.

Jesus saw children who were being suckled. He said to his disciples: these children who are being suckled are like those who enter the kingdom.

They said to him:

Shall we then, being children, enter the kingdom?

Jesus said to them:

When you make the two one, and when you make the inner as the outer and the outer as the inner, and the above as the below, and when you make the male and the female into a single one, so that the male will not be male and the female not be female, then shall you enter the kingdom.

Jezus sprak hier over de herborenheid van het kind in jezelf (Hridaya) en de opheffing van het ego bij Verlichting. Daarbij het richten van de twee hartchakra’s naar het middenhart (‘Christ-Consciousness’) (‘you make the two one’) en non-dualiteit: de buiten- en de binnenwereld, de hemel en de aarde en het vrouwelijke en het mannelijke zullen samen één worden in jezelf.

Jesus said:

The mote that is in thy brother’s eye thou seest, but the beam that is in thine eye thou seest not.

When thou castest the beam out of thine eye, then thou wilt see clearly to cast the mote out of thy brother’s eye.

Jezus spreekt hier over werkelijk zelfinzicht. Je kunt enkel de splinter uit iemands oog halen op het moment dat je je eigen balk hebt weggehaald.

Osho: ‘Unless you are transformed don’t move into another’s life. You are dangerous. When you are filled with light you can help’

Jesus said:

It is impossible for a man to mount two horses and to stretch two bows; and it is impossible for a servant to serve two masters, otherwise he will honor the one and offend the other.

Jezus spreekt hier over het ego, dat altijd meer en het onmogelijke wilt – een challenge. Opgeven en Focus enkel op het Licht!

Jesus said:

A city being built on a high mountain and fortified, cannot fall nor can it ever be hidden.

What thou shalt hear in thine ear and in the other ear, that preach from your housetops; for no one lights a lamp and puts it under a bushel, nor does he put it in a hidden place, but he sets it on the lamp stand so that all who come in and go out may see its light.

If a blind man leads a blind man, both of them fall into a pit.

Jezus spreekt dat falen noodzakelijk is in deze maatschappij anders kan Verlichting nooit zijn intreden doen.

Jesus: ‘Blessed are those who fail in this world’

Enkel een hoge awareness kan niet vallen en kan nooit verborgen blijven, zal niet bang zijn voor de dood en zal diep binnendringen.

Je zult vaak een verkeerde master volgen, omdat jezelf nog niet zover bent (spiritueel) en diegene dan herkenbaar voor je is (op hetzelfde niveau of net erboven). Maar dit groeiproces zal vaak stokken. Daarom blijft iedereen vaak miserabel.

Jesus said: If those who lead you say to you, ‘’see, the kingdom is in heaven,’’ then the birds of heaven will precede you.

If they say to you, ‘’it is in the sea,’’ then the fish will precede you.

But the kingdom is within you and it is without you.

If you will know yourselves, then you will be known and you will know that you are the sons of the living father.

But if you do not know yourselves, then you are in poverty and you are poverty.

Osho: ‘Simply (inner) awakening is needed’

Jesus said:

Blessed is the man who has suffered; he has found life.

Jezus sprak dat bij het proces van Verlichting eerst alle negatieve karma’s van vorige levens en van dit leven worden opgelost. Een persoon lijdt dus dubbel zo hard voorafgaande aan Verlichting. Dat lijden heeft een reden: het maakt een persoon bewust.

Jesus said: I am the light that is above them all, I am the all, and the all came from me and the all attained to me.

Cleave a piece of wood and I am there; lift up the stone and you will find me there.

Jezus was het Licht dat scheen op iedereen. Het goddelijke zit in alles. God is continu aan het creëren.

19.

Jesus said:

Whoever is near to me is near to the fire, and whoever is far from me is far from the kingdom.

Jesus said:

Come to me, for easy is my yoke and my lordship is gentle.

Jesus said:

Whoever drinks from my mouth shall become as I am and I myself will become he, and the hidden things shall be revealed to him.

Jezus sprak hier over dat de warmte van zijn chakra’s aanstekelijk zijn.

20.

Jesus said:

Blessed are the solitary and elect, for you shall find the kingdom; and because you come from it you shall go there again.

Jezus sprak hier over dat het Verlichtingsproces zich alleen kan voltooien in alleenheid (niet eenzaamheid). Daarbij is het leven een cirkel: een Verlicht persoon komt terug bij de oorspronkelijke bron.

Osho: ‘And these are the elect people, because those who need a crowd will be thrown again and again into the crowd; that is their need, that’s their demand, that’s their desires’

Jesus said:

If they say to you, ‘’From where have you originated?’’ say to them, ‘’We have come from the light, where the light originated through itself.’’

If they ask you, ‘’What is the sign of your father in you?’’ say to them, ‘’It is a movement and a rest.’’

Jezus spreekt hier over Godlineness: de geopende chakra-lijn in het lichaam. Alle dualiteiten worden opgelost in deze lijn. Het een geestelijke beweging door de chakra’s (movement) en de extatischheid is tevens een rust (rest). Je beweegt je in en tussen de wereld, maar je keert je er niet vanaf (geen rancune) (movement) en je bent in chakra-rust (rest).

22.

Simon Peter said to them:

Let Mary go out from among us, because women are not worthy of the life.

Jesus said: See, I shall lead her so that I will make her male, that she too may become a living spirit resembling you males. For every woman who makes herself male will enter the kingdom.

Voor Verlichting zal de innerlijke vrouwelijke energie gelijk moeten komen met de innerlijke mannelijke energie.
